Blackwell Dale Cave, a short but well decorated cave in Derbyshire

Overview:
A caver's dream - a short dig many years ago led through an easy muddy crawl to emerge in a large and exceptionally well decorated chamber.
Weather conditions:
Fine.
How to find it: Park in the large layby (room for several cars) in Blackwell Dale, the cave is situated a a short walk along the road and is easy to spot.
Access:
The decorated chamber is gated and access is controlled by the Orpheus Caving Club, from whom bona fide cavers can obtain a key.
Kit required:
None.
Description:
An easy hands and knees crawl through a muddy passage leads to the gate, beyond which is a stunning chamber with many pristine formations including stalactites, stalagmites, straws, helictites and good flowstone. A short but very worthwhile trip, and a definite 'must' for the cave photographer.
Blackwell Dale Cave is a real gem amongst Peak District caves and is not to be missed.
