Photo Gallery :: Orchids of Sicily

Orchids have to be amongst the most beautiful and exotic flowers on earth. During our 2009 visit to Sicily, we spent some time hiking in the limestone mountains of the Madonie and the Nebrodi, as well as our “usual” excursion to Mount Etna. We couldn’t help but photograph the fantastic variety of orchids we found, and so here is a selection of them for you to enjoy. We have still to fully identify all of the varieties, mainly due to available time as much as anything else, full latin names etc, will appear in due course. If you have suggestions or corrections for the orchid identifications, do please get in touch.
