Spar Gells mine near Wirksworth is one of the many ancient mines in Derbyshire. Accessed by either of two shafts - one ~120' deep, the other ~180' - the mine's main feature is an impressive hading stope. These photos were taken on a visit to the mine with the Wirksworth Mines Research Group
